Our singing sessions are soon to start again! I don’t know about you, but I always feel so much better after a good vocal work-out! It puts us in our happy space! We also want to do everything we can do to help keep ourselves in shape until the time comes when in-person rehearsals can begin again, so that means we will be scheduling bi-weekly sessions. Krista is, as we speak, chasing down some new pieces, which will probably be sung in unison, no SATB, along with a few others that we worked on last term.
Here are the dates and times for January-February: We have allotted an hour of time to give ourselves a little extra for some meet and greet! Wine is definitely allowed because we don’t have to drive anywhere!
19 January 7-8:00
2 February 7-8:00
16 February 7-8:00
Krista will be sending out the invitation to you within the next few days! We hope to see you all out! If you didn’t get an invitation and would like to have one, please contact Leslie at lastephen53 at g mail dot com.
It’s hard to believe that December is just around the corner. We’re usually maxed out in our house right about now, with extra rehearsals and performances, not even really able to think about Christmas plans. What a change this year! The shopping is done, no house guests or gatherings to prepare for, and we don’t even have to make sure we have enough concert black outfits to get us through the season. hahaha. I hope you are all finding ways to keep busy and stay positive as we approach a December like no other.
We haven’t heard about any special requests, which leads me to think that people really just want to sing something (anything!!) and chat. Going on that, we’ll sing warm-ups and exercises, review the choral excerpts that we’ve been working on, and then have Dean play a few tunes while we sing along on mute. I thought it might be a bit early for true Christmas songs, and decided to go with a snow/winter theme instead. Maybe get us looking forward to fluffy snow flakes and fresh air 🙂
Hope to see you on Tuesday evening! Krista

The sheet music links can also be obtained by calling Wietske
Let us keep going in the other way! We hope to see everyone there
In this time of COVID 19, we have to follow the advice we were trying to memorize for our Spring concert, kick up our heels and go another way. For us it was not as easy as it was for the Kicking Horse River, but the EnChor East Board has made plans to have three online, virtual gatherings for ALL members and anyone who wants to join this fall, by using Zoom. Prior to each gathering, our conductor will send out the E Mail link for the zoom meeting to everyone. Please put these dates on your calendar!
Tuesday, October 06, 7:15pm
Tuesday, November 03, 7:15pm
Tuesday December 01, 7:15pm
Our conductor, Krista Vincent and accompanist Dean Bradshaw will be participating in all three get-togethers.
At the on-line get-togethers, we will be singing (at home, in isolation). Time will also be set aside for participants to make comments or contributions, and to socialize in other ways. We are thinking that each session would last for more than an hour.
These sessions are free on Zoom. If anyone needs assistance, help will be available. Please send a request e-mail to join or to get help to firstname.lastname@example.org
Led by conductor Krista Vincent and pianist Dean Bradshaw.
Our choir sings a variety of choral repertoire and performs locally in December and May. We challenge our singers to work hard on reading, ear training, and musical expression, and we place a strong emphasis on the importance of community. New choristers are always welcome! We aim to provide a scent free rehearsal space!
